As secluded and quiet as it is, Dominical is projected by many to be Costa Rica’s next hot spot. It retains characteristics similar to its more developed neighbor, Manuel Antonio (about 35 minutes north) but without the hustle and bustle. There is a plethora of waterfalls stemming from the Barú River and an impressive amount of tours to things such as zip lines, deep sea fishing, snorkeling, hiking, scuba, stand up paddle boarding and of course, surfing. Around Dominical you can find many windy and steep roads that traverse throughout the steep mountainsides that allow for further exploring, so make sure to rent a 4×4 when visiting. If you’re looking for a relaxed laid back, barefoot atmosphere, quiet beaches, and ultimate privacy then you have found the right place. But enjoy it before the rest of the world finds out!
